What is a hook? Basically, it’s anything that will pique your audience’s interest and get them invested in what you’re saying. This can be a shocking statistic, an interesting story, or even a joke as long as whatever you choose is relevant to your presentation and doesn’t come across as try-hard or forced.

Make It Visually Pleasing 

Humans are visual creatures, so after you’ve grabbed your audience’s attention with the hook, maintain it and further engage them by making your presentation as visual as possible. 

Use images, charts, and graphs to break up blocks of text and to help illustrate your points. For example, say your presentation is about the growth in the number of people who visit the company website. Instead of just saying “monthly visits have grown by X percent,” use the right tools to make a graph that shows this growth over time.
