Although there are a lot of applications I like to keep loaded on my Windows Mobile devices and Palm, if I had to limit the apps to one, which would it be? The answer is an Electronic Wallet. My own favorite is eWallet, which works nicely on both my Pocket PCs and on my Palm TX. There are alternatives, such as SplashID, FlexWallet, and CodeWallet Pro. The most flexible of these is SplashID, which works on Windows Mobile, Palm, BlackBerry, and Symbian devices. I also own it and it is great software, but I am just more accustomed to eWallet.
Such applications are essential, in my view, because they keep your sensitive information secure. You can keep your credit card information, voicemail codes, website user id’s and passwords, and a lot of other sensitive information secure and accessible only by your user-definable password. Hence, if you do (or want to) carry sensitive information on any of your PDAs, my recommendation is to install one of these electronic wallets and secure your information within it. All of the software mentioned in this post is available for download on a trial basis, so you can see which of the apps most suits you.
