We’re not alone afterall

We’ve known for years that dolphins seemed to have a fairly high intelligence. Now, after additional testing, some scientists have concluded that dolphins are so intelligent that they should be accorded the status of non-human persons.

That is fascinating! It makes me wonder how much we underestimate the intelligence of earth’s other inhabitants.

I wonder which organized religion will be the first to try to “convert” the dolphins. Or, perhaps the dolphins will try to convert us to their religion. Hum.

I suspect that we do underestimate other species by a lot. For example, I recently read that we have learned that crows are highly intelligent. Yes, you read that right.

Perhaps someday our species will learn to treat other species reverently. Perhaps someday we’ll learn to treat each other that way.
