Has the economy had a direct impact on you? Has your 401k been impacted? Do you foresee layoffs in the organization(s) you are affiliated with?
What sort of questions are going through your head as regards the economy and its impact? A couple I wonder about are:
- What opportunities does it provide?
And I don’t mean just in the sense of buying opportunities for depressed stocks. I’m wondering about whether this will be an opportunity for us to overcome our tendency for instant gratification. And perhaps it’s an opportunity for us to be thankful for what we do have and a better sense of appreciation of how fortunate we are and have been. - What will be the impact on technological innovation?
I haven’t written any technology-related articles in a while, because the current state of technology just bores the hell out of me. Aside from the iPhone, where have there been any technology innovations worthy of talking about? I haven’t seen any that impressed me, and now the iPhone is starting to be a bore, too. So, can we expect even less innovation now?
