Shel Israel, co-author with Robert Scoble of Naked Conversations: How Blogs are Changing the Way Businesses Talk with Customers, wrote an article about me this weekend. Actually, while my name is mentioned and while Shel provides some specific advice to me and gives me great insights, the article has excellent points for any blogger or blogger-to-be and is intended for the benefit of a vast audience.
Although I have only been blogging since March, I have quickly learned that the blogging community is very open and that fellow bloggers will often go out of their way to help another one. Not all fellow bloggers are that way, of course, but it seems to me that the vast majority is.
I am particularly amazed that someone so involved in the birthing of blogging as we know it, namely Shel, would take the time to personally help me have a better understanding of what blogging is all about.
And, like Shel, I am glad that there are not two Robert Scoble’s in the world: I am connected to Robert in my Plaxo Pulse account, and I have, since last week, over 25 pages of “headlines,” with the bulk of them being from Robert’s blog, his Twitter account, his Flickr account, and so on. I am glad Robert is as communicative as he is, but I could not keep up with two of him.
Anyway, I am tickled that Shel took the time to give me some good pointers: not only good blogging advice, but good solid life advice, too.
