If you are a frequent user of your Pocket PC or Palm, and write a lot on it, you can do yourself a big favor by using a pen-stylus combo instead of the built-in stylus. The stylus that comes with a typical Pocket PC or Palm is small and generally not well suited to doing a lot of data entry. Sure, it works, and having it available in a built-in storage slot is great for ensuring it stays with you. But, if you do a lot of data entry, it’s not particularly good for your hand.
What I use, and have for years, is a pen-stylus combo. You can often find them at a Staples or Office Max or other office supply place. There are also online spots that specialize in such multi-function pens. I personally use StylusCentral. They have a tremendous selection of multi-function pens. I have three such pens, including two Quad Point pens that I got from a local FranklinCovey store … there is a stylus refill one can get for such pens. (Why two such pens? Lost one, bought another, then found the first one.) I often take notes on my Pocket PC using such a multi-function pen, taking advantage of the Pocket PC’s handwriting recognition system: I can use a lighter touch in writing on my Pocket PC than when I write on paper, making it easier on me when I’m doing a lot of writing.
I highly recommend that you check into a multi-function pen.
(By the way, I’m not affiliated with any of the companies mentioned in this post.)
