Howard recently sent the following tip to me:
After days of asking and searching I was given a very slick way to transfer Calendar/Contacts. Back up Palm data somewhere safe. Uninstall Palm completely. Reinstall and choose Outlook as your sync program.
Sync Palm to Outlook and tell iPod to go and get it. Took maybe 10 minutes total.
