Keener Living’s One-Year Anniversary

We’ve been online for one-year now, making this a great opportunity for me to say Thank You!

I appreciate every reader of this blog and I especially appreciate the comments many of you have made on the posts. To me, comments are what makes a blog. You folks have a lot of knowledge and thoughtful opinions and I appreciate what you share with all of us.

You have probably noticed that one of the things I like to do is to try to help you look at things a little differently than you might have in the past. Not all of my posts are like that, of course, but that is one of the underlying themes I plan to continue.

And, of course I also plan to continue to try to help you use technology wisely. This does not mean that I am going to go out and buy every gadget and piece of software known to man, just to test them out for you. But it does mean that I will continue to try to help you get the most out of the technology you do have (or are thinking of getting).

I’ll also have some other oddball topics, too. Partly because I am interested in a lot of different things, and partly because I just run out of things to say at times about life management and technology use. I am surprised I haven’t completely run out of things to say, but hopefully that won’t happen.

By the way, for those of you interested in numbers, this entry is our 414th post. So far there have been almost 900 comments on these posts (thank you!). And, over 36,000 spam entries have been blocked (thanks to good spam-blocking software).

Anyway, while blogging can be frustrating at times, this has turned into an enjoyable hobby for me, and I hope you enjoy it as well.

    Thank YOU, Thomas.

The best part of running this blog is that it has enabled to meet really good friends, and I do appreciate your friendship. I appreciate all the time you spent last night helping me try to debug my wireless mess. (I’ll be spending the next hour or two on the phone with at&t trying to get them to do a fix, as I am now convinced the problem has something to do with my dsl setup. At least we now know that.)

    Thank you again.

Congratulations Bruce! I’ve been following your blog for a couple of months but have not been an active poster. Nevertheless, I always look forward to your postings showing up in my rss reader, as I appreciate your view on our technological world.

    Alexey and Russell,

Thank you. I appreciate you very much!

Congrats. Keep up the good work.

Congrats! I always read, even if I don’t have time to comment…keep up the great work!

On the wireless…darn…thought you would have that fixed by now. Hope it is resolved soon

Make sure and take notes on your final working wireless setup so that you have it for future reference.

Also, if possible, save the wireless setup connection settings to a USB flash drive…for adding on other machines (or repairing the one you set it up on). I did this when I set up my wireless…made it easier to add the kid’s laptops to the network

    John and Susan,

    Thank you.

Susan .. the wireless is running now. Basically just had to RESET the modem, do a couple of unplugs (modem and router) and that was it. Key factor is that modem needs to know what is downstream of it. Now I am loving the Touch even more … so many great features open up on it when you have WiFi access. Thanks for your help.

    Thank you very much Mike!

BTW, with my emphasis on comments, I don’t want anyone to feel Obligated to comment … you certainly are not. But, when you do comment, I want you to know that (1) you are adding value and (2) you have my appreciation. But, you have my appreciation regardless.

    Thanks again.
