Idea for a Science Fiction Novel on the AntiChrist

Have you ever thought of writing a book?

The idea of it certainly appeals to me. I’d love to write a science fiction novel, but I have zero story-telling abilities. Some people could tell you about what they watched on TV last night, and make a story of it, one that would interest you. I could tell you about my brush with death in the mountains of Austria and not have you in suspense at all.

But I do have an idea for a scifi novel that I would like to read: one in which AI (artificial intelligence) becomes so advanced that it becomes “the AntiChrist.” That is, AI becomes smarter than us, to the point that we don’t understand how it works or what it is doing, and becomes godlike to us. Further, it decides to reshape the world for its purposes, creating false news stories that are accepted as fact and that incite riots and wars, resulting in a “one world government” managed by AI (of course). And, while I am not a theologian, the plot seems theologically reasonable to me, since the Bible is thought to have symbolic language in addition to some historical text (along with some other text that has arguable historical credibility). And, the plot seems scientifically reasonable to me: AI will certainly advance at an incredible rate over the next 20 to 100 years.

Of course, the setting would have to be at least 20 years into the future to have any credibility at all, meaning that 2012 would have come and gone. So, the plot would have to say that the 2012 end-of-the-world theories were all misinterpretations of the Mayan Calendar. That should be easy enough to do.

Anyway, if you have it within you to tackle writing a book, here’s a start of a plot for you.

What’s all this got to do with my blog, anyway? It is an unusual post, I admit, but recall that I do like to help you think differently and to use your imagination, and that is what I have intended with this post. Plus, I really would like to read such a book.
