Getting the Motivation to “Crush It”

I just finished reading Crush It!: Why NOW Is the Time to Cash In on Your Passion, and wanted to make sure you are aware of the book’s availability.

I’m generally not a big fan of rah-rah motivational books: they are typically too long on cute phrases and too short on how-to’s. Besides, they always seem to talk about the need to have passion, and I have never considered myself a passionate person: I like to think of myself as calm and level-headed, and I have just never been one for showing a lot of excitement.

Gary makes it clear, though, that, if you are ever going to “crush it” (make it big), you have to do so in an area that you are passionate about. Of course, he makes it clear that you also have to work your butt off, but your passion will provide the fuel you need to get you to that.

Gary gives lots of tips on how to use social media as a part of your overall strategy. I can’t think of anyone who has done a better job of doing this themselves, so he is the perfect one to take this sort of advice from.

One thing that I learned from reading this fine book is that I actually do have passions. (Perhaps my problem, in part, is that I may actually have too many of them.) This was a nice revelation for me, and one that is motivating me toward doing some things I hadn’t really thought about.

Anyway, I enjoyed the book a lot and thought you should at least be made aware of it.
