Freeing Memory in Your iPhone/Touch

iPod Touch Memory Memory management on the iPhone and iPod Touch is apparently pretty decent: my Touch has only “locked up” once in the 15 months that I’ve used it, and I use it heavily.

But now there is a free app that lets you free up iPhone/Touch memory whenever you think it is getting sluggish from low memory.

The picture on the right (click for enlarged version) shows what my Touch’s memory was before using the app to free some memory. When I hit the Free Memory Button, it went from about 3 MB free to a little over 35 MB free. That’s a pretty impressive gain.

I have not run into any downside in using this utility. It’s easy to operate and hasn’t had any unintended effects that I can determine. Nice little freebie.

What’s your favorite iPhone/Touch utility?
