Agenda One v2 Available

My favorite Pocket PC and Smarphone PIM just got updated to version 2: Agenda One.

I reviewed this application several months back, and I knew at that time that it would likely become my favorite PIM. Some of its key points in my mind are as follows:

  • It is the ideal Smartphone app, designed from the ground up to support one-handed operation. It is also great for Pocket PCs.
  • I love its clean, uncluttered interface. It is handsomely designed.
  • It is a fully functional PIM that gives you everything you need from a PIM without a lot of extra bells and whistles to slow it down and clutter it up.
  • Extraordinarily easy to use and setup.
  • Does not hog memory like a few PIMs do.

I am not big on announcing software updates … you can find out about those anywhere. But, I thought it was worthwhile to announce this one because its simplicity and functionality are truly worth talking about. I considered this to be particularly true in view of our recent discussion of how technology can hold you back. In my view, using clean, simple applications like Agenda One promote your efficiency without getting you tied up in wasting your time trying to tweak them to the nth degree.

Looks like a nice app, though I have nothing to run it on. I used to use Agenda Fusion when I was using a PPC and bounced back and forth between that and Pocket Informant. Honestly, they both did way more than I needed to do. My x50v is now collecting dust and I’ve managed to hack my iPod touch to do pretty much everything I need a PDA to do – calendar, contacts, mail and to-do list. It actually works quite well in that role. Makes me wonder what his Steveness has in mind for the future of the device.

    Capo,
I was just setting down to play the guitar and saw your comment come up.

Good for you, Dude! So glad to hear you got a Touch and that you have made it into a PDA. I just cannot justify getting one right now, or I would follow you on it.

But, yes, you would have liked Agenda One. Just a good clean, no frills interface, but with everything you need out of a PIM.
