After working my little butt off today, I decided to unwind on the guitar. Somehow a couple of new tunes came out of me, and I decided to share them with you. The strings on the Alvarez are way dead, and have been for a while, but when the mood hits, you gotta play. Right?
So, anywho, I hope you enjoy. For those who are also fingerstyle guitarists and want to play the tunes yourself, note that both are played in a D tuning: both E strings are run down to D. As far as I know, both tunes are Keener Originals. If not, my apologies to whoever wrote them for not giving credit. I just play what’s in my head, dontcha know.
Got lots more work to do for the next few days, so thanks for letting me unwind with you. Here are the tunes:
Enjoy!
Note: The full collection of my free recordings is available at this link.
Nice stuff
Maybe you missed your calling Bruce – ever thought of getting some good recordings and setting up a MySpace page? BTW – totally different feel, but I just uploaded and unfinished demo (my only kind) of a new one of my own. Check out: http://www.lancegallup.com/samples/rescue.mp3
Thanks Lance. Great song you have there, dude! I grew up with Country Gospel music, and am still moved to tears at times by a good gospel song.
Thanks for posting more songs! I am looking forward to listening to these tonight – you are very talented.
Thank you @tmiller! I hope you enjoy them.
Hi Bruce, great tunes. You were right I did like the minor one best. Just something about songs in a minor key that always gets my attention. That acoustic of yours sure does record good. Being in Nashville this week I sure have had the chance to play some nice guitars. Played a Santa Cruz yesterday that was a dream. Played several Gibsons at there place out here. They were pretty decent but have really out priced themselves. Take care buddy and keep on pickin.
Hi Ray,
Good to hear from you and glad you liked the tunes. Like you, minors tend to get my attention the best.
Glad you’re enjoying your time in Nashville. Sounds like great fun.
Thanks for the compliments on the Alvarez. I’m thinking of getting some sort of amplified classical, though, as it tends to go best with my style. Considering a Multiac. We’ll see. Sometime within the next couple of months I’ll probably grab one. Been a long while since I’ve treated myself to a new guitar. A new one that I love would probably help me to notch up a bit.
