Quote of the Week:

A Few Quickies

Yup, I know your mind was in the gutter when you saw the headline. Mine, too.

Just wanted to share a few quick reads and a tune. The reads are here:

  • Merlin Mann put together a directory of his best GTD write-ups. This is one for you to bookmark and refer to from time-to-time: a lot of classic GTD material in his writings.
  • Alex King describes how he accomplishes backups.

As to the tune, you may notice that the Alvarez strings are mighty dead. But I wanted to get this recorded before I forgot it. I hope you enjoy it:

Note: The full collection of my free recordings is available at this link.

Yep, those are some seriously dead strings alright, but they add to the charm of that style. It wouldn’t be the same on crisp new Elixirs… ;-) . Another good tune.

Thanks for putting a positive spin on it capo. Truly, it would not sound right at all with bright strings, but a little more life would be good. This set of strings has been a disappointment to me, but at least I know where a store is :)

Bruce, always enjoy hearing your tunes – I haven’t been exposed much in the past to this style of guitar, but really enjoy it! In fact, downloaded some of your music just to listen to on different occasions!

Thank you very much, pritchett4. I’m glad you enjoyed this tune and hope you enjoy several of my others.

I really enjoy playing this style of guitar … the general term for it is funky.
