From Jennifer’s blog I found this post about how a family of six paid off their mortgage on a $29,000 per year income. Many of you will like the religious theme of this article; others will simply want to parse out the money-saving tips, and there are several of them. Interesting article and very timely.
As to the second “money item,” this is a reminder that only today and tomorrow is left for getting the $50 discount on an Amazon Kindle via a discount code from Oprah.
I am loving my Kindle. It’s not for everyone, of course. It might be hard to justify if you do not read a lot of books. And, if you are looking for a sexy gadget, it’s not sexy like the products from Apple. But, it is plenty functional, and I love the reading experience it gives me.
The thing I am going to have to watch for is buying too many books: it’s so easy to buy them, and they load up almost instantly. I have already bought three this week. I started with Bit Literacy and a book by Scott Hahn, but both bored me, so I bought The Snowball: Warren Buffett and the Business of Life and I am loving it. Great book!
