Quote of the Week:

A Beta of a Time Management eBook

Update: An updated version is provided here. The difference between the released version and the beta is that the released version has improved chapter headings and bookmarking, and a couple of improved pictures.
————
Over the years, several people have asked me to make my Keen PDA site available in eBook format. Last week I got the request again, and this time the gentlemen, Luk Van Loock, sent me a Word document which he had made by copying and pasting my site into it. He said he did that so he could carry the material on his Pocket PC and refer to it as he implements the advice I provide in it.

Then I finally realized that I really need to make an eBook format available: if people are willing to try to create their own, then there is a need, and I should fill that need.

Hence, I spent the weekend converting the Keen PDA site into an eBook. It should not have required the entire weekend, but I ran into some technical problems. Thomas Hall gave me great advice for overcoming those problems, and he also read an early beta of the eBook. Thomas, thank you very much. And, Luk, thank you prompting me to put this together.

The eBook probably still needs some clean up and probably has a few errors in it, so I am releasing it as a beta:

The eBook is in MobiPocket format and requires MobiReader. I selected this format because their free reader is available for Windows, Palm, Pocket PC, Smartphone, and BlackBerry operating systems.

My plan is to release this as a finished document later this week (probably Thursday), so I would appreciate your feedback.

I gave up my PPC a few years ago in favor of pen and paper-but you’re sorely tempting me. ;)

    Thank you, John.

I expect to make the document available in PDF format, too, which should be easy to print.

Pen and Paper is hard to beat at times isn’t it? We all have to do what works best for us, and pen and paper suits a lot of folks better than PDAs do. I’m probably a nut case in that I like both approaches.

Thank you! This will fit in nice with my GTD articles that I have saved on my PPC.

Thanks so much for making this valuable contribution to the GTD and PDA community, Bruce. This is excellent and something I’ve wanted for quite a while. Your KeenPDA site is recommended by people all the time on various forums and newsgroups and I recommend it to everyone interested in GTD and PDAs as well. Thanks for making this available!

The Palm is great, but it never gave me the overall view I need. Check out my personal Paper Assistant planner. it gives me the long term view I need.

    Hello Bruce,

Accidently came to this page ;-) .
Thanks for mentioning my name. Although my effort/input was very small here, I find it very honest and honorable when people say openly where they got their ideas.

    Regards,

    Luk
