While searching for some info on Jerry Reed’s health, I came across the YouTube below, which shows Jerry receiving an award from AMVETS for his dedication to the causes of American Veterans. I do not know when the video was made. I do know he is donating proceeds from his Let’s Git It On album to Veterans and their families.
I am delighted to see Jerry get this recognition. But, I am also saddened at how his health has deteriorated. I dearly love Jerry and wish him the very best. He has been an enormous influence on my guitar playing, and indeed on my life. In addition to admiring him for his extraordinary guitar and songwriting talent, I also admire his unpretentiousness and his kindness.
I realize this topic doesn’t fit very well into our normal flow of topics. I don’t care.

I love Jerry and so wish his health were better. Probably the best guitar picker to ever walk the planet.
