Let Me Hear from You

Hi folks.

Update: Several suggestions are starting to roll in, and I appreciate it, very much. Keep them coming: that will help me to do a better job for you. [End of Update]

About a week ago I installed a new tool on the sidebar, Skribit, to give you a way to suggest topics for me to write about. So far, nobody has used it to make any suggestions.

I know everyone is busy. And, I can understand you thinking it’s my job to come up with topics. Ultimately I do have to be the decider, but I sure can use your help: I am having one of my many writer’s block periods. You know better than I do what you want to read about, so telling me helps us all.

Skribit is easy to use: you just click the top of it, where it says “Click here to suggest a topic” and enter your suggestion. Or, vote for somebody else’s suggestion.

Skribit Topic Entry

Right now I am feeling a little “bummed out” on blogging. Not only has nobody suggested a topic via Skribit, but there have only been three comments since this time last week, with two of them by Capo.

There have been some relatively good signs: subscriptions have gone from 50 to 200 in the past six months, and traffic has increased from 70 visits per day to about 250 visits per day, with about 80 percent of these visits coming from Google searches.

But these are not major improvements. I feel like I am missing the mark somewhere. If you would like to see me keep blogging, help me move things forward. Help me get the topics right (presuming that I can competently write about what you want to hear about) and tell me how I can get more interaction.

Finally, please let me know what you like about this site and what you don’t like. I really need to know both. If you don’t want to put this in the comments, you can email me at brucekeener [at] gmail.com

Thank you. Have a good week!

Prolly off topic and you might not care to post on the subjecy, but how about successful blogging from the ground up? From personal experience, and interviews with other successful bloggers. What works, what doesn’t, software, hosts, ads, revenue, traffic, logs, etc.

Susan and capo,

Thank you very much for the input. Susan, I really like the idea you shared in your email. And, capo, while I agree your suggestion may be a little “off-topic,” it is one that interests me a lot and I probably have learned a good bit that I can share. I will try to think of ways to share this kind of info in (1) a specific way that can help fellow bloggers and (2) in a general way that can help anyone.

Thanks again.
