You have always had the ability to influence the topics I write about by sending an email to me, or by suggesting a topic in the comments.
But now we have a new way for you to do, and I am excited about it: you can use Skribit to suggest and vote on topics. Skribit is the brainchild of Paul Stamatiou, and his idea won the best startup concept at Startup Atlanta recently. During Startup Atlanta, Paul led a group to develop and implement Skribit, and he and his team have since been tweaking it. I liked the idea a lot and signed up for the Skribit service. Now that I am approved for the beta of Skribit, I want to put it to use so you folks can share your thoughts on topics for us to discuss.
You can make your suggestions, and vote for someone else’s suggestion, by using the widget on the sidebar that looks like this:

Paul has been using it on his blog for a couple of months and has written some articles based on suggestions made via Skribit. One of the things I really like about it is the ability for you folks to vote on topics, giving me an ability to prioritize what to talk about.
Of course, some of you may very well suggest a topic I am just not qualified to write about, so the system is not going to be perfect. But, if you suggest a topic that I can write intelligently on, then I will sure give it my best.
I expect that this will take time to gather some steam and that it may well be a month before any topics get enough votes to make it clear to me that they are good choices to write about. I don’t get nearly the traffic that Paul does on his site, so the topics may be slow to come in. But, I think it is a great tool and I applaud Paul and his team for the fantastic idea and great work in implementing it. Thanks Paul!
Finally, bear in mind that this neat tool is still in beta, so you might occasionally experience a glitch with it. If you do, please let me know. I will pass it along to Paul, who is capable of fixing just about any technical problem imaginable. I doubt that you will encounter a problem, but if you do, please let me know. Thank you.
