Year End Stuffs

December 22, 2007

I wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

I am taking several days off. I may be back before the 31st, possibly next Thursday or Friday, but I do plan to just take time away from blogging and other “work” and to spend some time in reflection. In particular, I plan to focus on

  • being grateful for all I have … I have not done this often enough, and tend to take things for granted.
  • writing my “year-end report card” … something I have not done for a long, long time. I’ll ask myself questions about whether this was a good first year of retirement, whether I am a better person today than a year ago, and so on. This will probably be a sobering experience, but it’s the right time of year for it.

Again, my best wishes to you and yours!

Bruce, I’m hoping that your 1st year retirement report card gets published. For those of us who aren’t quite ready and haven’t made the “leap” yet, it might be interesting. Nothing better than learning from others…good or bad.

Thanks guys.
Mike, I might publish it but no promises. But, yes it is good for us to all learn from each other.
