Our Wishes for Your Thanksgiving

November 20, 2007

Booger and Bouncer and I wish you a safe and happy Thanksgiving holiday period. (For those outside the US, you have our best wishes, too.)

The Three of Us

My activities over the holidays will include visiting Vickie at the cemetery, reading, napping, watching movies, and being lazy in general. The boys will be lazy with me. The three of us are actually very good at it.

When I visit Vickie, my heart will obviously be filled with sadness. But, I will also have gratitude for all of the wonderful years she and I did have together, and for all of the positive ways she changed me and those we love.

We are a fortunate species in that we can choose what attitudes we have. Was it Zig Zigler who said “your attitude determines your altitude?” I do not recall for sure who it was, but attitude is important. And we can choose it. Despite all of the negative input we get from news sources, and despite the fact that many of us business professionals are paid to find problems, and hence look for the negatives of a situation, we can choose to step away from it all and have an attitude of gratitude. For this holiday period, I choose to do just that and I hope you are able to do so as well.

I plan to be back on Monday. I’ll check blog comments, my email, Twitter, and so on, but I am taking a holiday from writing until next week.

So until then: Best wishes to you all. Be safe. Be happy. Be grateful.
