Do you keep your old PDAs and Smartphones? I have a friend who has kept every one he has ever owned.
As for me, I tend to sell my “surplus” PDAs, partly because it makes economic sense and partly because I just do not like to see devices go to waste. As an example, I recently sold my iPAQ 4700. That does not mean I am giving up on Pocket PCs, because I am keeping my Dell x51v.
But, with me having a T-Mobile Dash, a Dell x51v, and a Palm TX, in addition to the iPAQ 4700, the latter was getting very little use. So, I sold it to a very good friend. I know that he will take good care of it, and that is important to me. I could have let him have either the x51v or the 4700, but, since he already had an x51v, the 4700 made the most sense. That gives him a backup device, or, alternately, he may let one of his daughters have it. She is a nurse and uses a Pocket PC a lot in her work, so the 4700 would be a great device for her.
Recently I complained about some disappointments in the Windows Mobile platform on Smartphones. Those complaints still apply, but I do really like Windows Mobile for Pocket PCs. HP made some really good devices. I loved the iPAQ 2215 and the 4700. The 4700 had the best screen of any device I have ever owned. (Well, actually, the Treo 650 had a beautiful screen, too, but it was limited to a 320×320 resolution.) There are rumors that HP may get back into the Pocket PC market later this year. I hope they do. Despite the tremendous interest in Smartphones, I suspect there are still a lot of Pocket PC fans like me who are hoping the PPC market does not completely die out.
Anyway, I am glad Hal has my 4700. It’s in good hands and it won’t go to waste. Now that I have a BlackBerry, I may even see if he (or someone) wants my T-Mobile Dash. Might sell the Palm TX, too, as I still feel like I have too much clutter.

You could always run several of your Palm programs in StyleTap. That’s what I do. I always try to find a native application with similar functionality, but sometimes, due to software not existing, or me just not wanting to pay for a new license, I’ll run the program in StyleTap. Especially nice on a VGA screen.
I try to sell my devices rather than keep them. They can be used by others who get a great deal on a well-maintained device, and I don’t have clutter. It’s hard to keep a handle on which charger goes with what device, as it’s never just the device itself - it’s all of the supporting items that come with it that really cause the clutter!
You’re right, Thomas … the chargers and all the other “stuff” really do add to the clutter. Sounds like we are alike in not wanting a device to go to waste. And, good point about StyleTap.
If u like the 4700 ipaq’s VGA screen — then this is for you too!

Spinosum, I am tempted to sell my x51v and get the 200. May just do that in time.
