Print media is becoming less popular as we get more and more information from the web. Despite this, I really like having a few magazine subscriptions, with Smartphone and Pocket PC Magazine being one of the subscriptions I have. The mag is chocked full of great tips, reviews, and in-depth articles. Heck, you can even find an article from me in it from to time.

I have been exchanging emails with Hal Goldstein, Publisher and Executive Editor of Smartphone Magazine, about how the decline in print media popularity (plus US Postal Service rate hikes) is clobbering magazine publishers. This is a loss not only to the publishers, but to us. I find it refreshing to read from print sometimes instead of spending ALL of my reading time in front of a computer screen. For example, I have over 24 MB of articles from First Things magazine stored in iSilo format for reading on my Pocket PC or Palm, yet I often prefer to read the actual magazine articles instead.
Anyway, we each have our own preferences, but if you are like me and like to do some of your reading from real printed media, you owe it to yourself to follow-up on this free offer.
