I swear there is a huge conspiracy out to get me to buy an iPhone
In reality, although nobody is really pinging on me for it, the following articles from around the web are among the many that sure do whet my appetite for an iPhone:
- Tim O’Reilly’s Reading Books on the iPhone
- Nick Santilli’s Fun With iPhone Contacts Photos
- BrightHand’s article Companies Working to Bring Support for Exchange Server to the iPhone. (Thanks for the link to this, Thomas.)
- Kevin Tofel’s piece at jkOnTheRun: Hosted Exchange 101
I know: what’s the last entry got to do with an iPhone? Well, it turns out that Kevin is re-evaluating whether he really needs hosted exchange, because he is thinking seriously about getting an iPhone and iPhones do not support hosted exchange (unless someone has found a way to trick the phones that I haven’t read about).
If you are interested in an iPhone, these articles are worth putting on your list to read. Additionally, Kevin’s is a good primer on hosted exchange service, something I have been thinking about trying out, but also something I probably really do not need.
And, finally if you have been wrestling with whether to get Microsoft Vista, you might want to head over to Chris Pirillo’s site via the CrunchGear article Vista Still Sucks, Pirillo Pissed. Chris has gone back to XP after 6 months of frustration with Vista. I know every time I think about upgrading to Vista (is upgrade the right word?), I think back to the aggravation I had with it when I used the Release Candidate 2 version back in November or December or whenever that was. Just would not run a lot of the apps I wanted to run.
But, no doubt there are a lot of folks who love Vista. Have you had good experiences with it?
If you own an iPhone, what kind of tempting things can you tell me to further whet my appetite on it? I absolutely have no need for one, but they sure look great. And, I am reading a lot of good articles about how folks love ‘em. I have been remarkably patient, considering my “go ahead and buy it” nature to hold off. Totally unlike me. Maybe after 58 years I am finally growing up? Maybe so, as indicated in my recent Smarphone and Pocket PC Magazine article: Nothing Wrong With The Smartphone. Could one of the most impatient men in the world finally be developing some patience? Could be … we’ll just have to see.
