My friend Thomas sent the following link to me:
- A CIO Insight interview with David Allen, entitled “Ditch Your BlackBerry?“
By the way, David does not advocate ditching your BlackBerry or any technology, but reminds us of some important basics, including the fact that such tools are here to serve us, not the other way around. David always has a way of bringing us back to basics, and almost all interviews I’ve read (or seen) with him have been enlightening. This interview has a lot of good material in it.
This reminds me: until I retired at the end of the year, I had been a member of GTDConnect. I dropped out of it because I try to be frugal on my retirement budget (still love to buy toys, though). But, if you struggle a bit with GTD, or even if you don’t, you should check into GTDConnect. Tons of good tips there. I’ve been thinking about signing back up myself, despite my retirement budget.
I think it was on GTDConnect that I learned, among many other things, that David Allen still uses the Palm platform. In fact, I seem to recall that Marc Orchant helped him set up his Treo 700p. But, that’s certainly not all I learned there. There is a literal ton of interesting written, video, and audio material there.
Finally, now that I have mentioned Palm, I will have a post Friday on a neat Palm application for implementing GTD. In fact, I wish such an application were available for the Windows Mobile platform.
