For fellow bloggers: wait for a while on WordPress 2.2

I continue to find problems from having upgraded from WordPress 2.1.3 to WordPress 2.2.

For example, I just now discovered that most of my categories are gone! Fortunately, I have a database backup so I can add these in, but then I have to go through and manually re-categorize every post! What a huge waste of time. And, I am not alone. This has happened to others, as well.

And, as for the “feature” that builds sidebar widget handling directly into WordPress? The plugin did it better. The widget treats every page the same. Used to be that you could customize better than that.

Also, several apostrophes and quote marks got turned into gosh-awful characters, and I have had to spend a lot of time going through and cleaning those up.

Oh well, so much for the price of early adopting!
