Running Vista on Your Mac: Boot Camp 1.2 Available

March 29, 2007

Boot Camp 1.2 includes several improvements:

Boot Camp 1.2 beta includes [Partial Listing]:

  • Support for Windows Vista (32-bit)
  • Updated drivers, including but not limited to trackpad, AppleTime (synch), audio, graphics, modem, iSight camera
  • Support the Apple Remote (works with iTunes and Windows Media Player)
  • A Windows system tray icon for easy access to Boot Camp information and actions

I have been using the previous version of Boot Camp for about the past six weeks, and enjoy being able to run Windows on a 32 GB partition on my iMac. This morning I installed the new version and did not encounter any problems (got an advisory from Windows about uncertified ATI video driver, but I blew it off and the video does fine). I’ve not tested all the new features, but from my experience I have little doubt that they will work as advertised. Note that I personally am running XP Pro, but that this new release is also supposed to work for Vista.
